Sunday, leave for Balloch, Nethy Bridge and Dingwall. Monday, Gills Bay and Orkney. Tuesday, leave Orkney for Poolewe. Wednesday, Applecross and arrive Ullapool. Thursday, Friday, Saturday The Gathering and Sunday, return home. See you all there!

Re: Who is arriving early in Ullapool?

should be there (Southwaite) at 8am (ish). My 2 sons are (currently - unless they get a better offer) planning on coming - Hornet 250 and a CB-1 400. Both of which seem to need fuel at about 100 mile intervals. Which means I will be paying half their fuel as I will stretch my tank to 2x theirs .

Anyway, as nearly everyone will be on different fuel strategies and stopping needs suggest we plan 2 or 3 points where we regroup:

    1. There is a Little Chef and filling station on the A82 in Dumbarton about 2 miles north and west of the Erskine bridge. Little Chef on the left, fuel on the right. (120miles). ETA here about 11 to 11.15. Coffee and piss leave at 11.30

    2. The green welly stop in Tyndrum The Green Welly Stop, Tyndrum, Scotland Only about 60 miles from Dumbarton, but it looks too good to miss. ETA here about 12.45. Suggest this is lunch stop for an hour or so.

    3. Drumadrochit near Loch Ness and just before the turn off the A82 to by-pass Inverness. I was up here in May, there are a couple of roadside cafes and a filling station. ETA here about 4pm.

After Drumadrochit it is only 60 odd miles to Ullapool (ETA Ullapool 6pm), so we will probably all just travel and arrive together. This splits the route into manageable chunks and allows others to rendezvous where their route crosses.

google map links from:Southwaite Motorway Services Area, M6, Broadfield, Southwaite, Carlisle, CA4 0NT (Moto Southwaite North) to:Glasgow, G82 2TZ (Little Chef) to:tyndrum torumnadrochit, Inverness, Inverness-Shire, United Kingdom to:ullapool - Google Maps

Well guys, I am leaving Kyleakin,Skye at 13:30, be at the Garve juction at 14:30 on to Ullapool for 15:00. Total 87 miles. Not even a tankfull.

I expect no one will meet up with me

There is a downside to having the National so close.

Still its going to be great see you all, hear the comments from the first timers to scotland, it realy is awsome.

    And see the regulars.

Actually, I havn't seen any posts from Chad, are you in touch Vader?
