My battered shoulder is'nt up to big miles on the bike yet , so me and Jean will probably be heading up on wednesday in the car with an africa on the trailer.

    I love all this.

I know it sounds weird but I like the fact that there's so many of us converging at different times from different directions.

It make the unfeasably long ride to Ullapool seem like a pootle.

So even if I never catch you up, the incentive will always be there and I know there'll be some of you there when I do finally arrive (though I am still hoping to be there to help DC pick up his bike).

Basic thought process is to get rid of the boring Motorway miles and be fresh for the best bits

Any takers to join in the 'half a week off gang'
tibbie shiels home is near Moffat junction 15 off the A74(m) on the A708, it's on the right as you aproach st Marys loch, camping is in the pub grounds, it's about 15 miles from the motorway on a nice country road.

    Hi Austin,
Yes I’m heading up to Ulapool on the Wednesday going to stay at the red squirrel campsite at Glencoe, and take the long route round the coast by loch Alsh , A890, A896, A832, and then on to the A835 so I should be in Ullapool late afternoon Thursday.

    Look forward to seeing you.
