The motor is a Ural 650

The original Dnepr motor had died before i bought the bike...
So it is a bit Ural anyway, hehe

Not the infamous snapped cast iron crank ?

Good, useable 2nd hand forged Dnepr cranks are hard to find,so I can understand you fitting the superior Ural engine

Oups, had to find my technical dictionary to answer this one

It's the "old" owner who changed the motor.
I was told, that the piston had come through the cylinder. Knocked a hole. He did'nt bother to fix it, but got a brandnew Ural motor to fit in.

But he got tired of the bike after a while, as the motor wouldn't run properly. On one cylinder only.

Then I got a mail from the Ural/Dnepr club of DK, they knew I was searching for a bike like this one, I didn't care if it's original or veteran.
My need was a workhorse, every day, summer and winter.
Only must was the 2WD, as I live far out in countryside, when it gets muddy or snow here, only my XR and the MT16 gets outta my driveway.
Cars must wait for a tractor and a VERY long chain

When I bought the bike in Sweden, Ural motor had run 12km, rest of the equipage 3882km
    For £1000
