I get 210/220 before light comes on and thats a 25ltr tank. But it's a Mighty Varadero so who cares what it costs to run.![]()

My 2005 FI model costs me around a £1 per 10 miles - e.g 200 miles equal £20.
Returning from Wales with both panniers & sitting at 85/90 on the M4 I got around 48-50mpg but it's nearer 44mpg in general use.

I've been having a bit of an economy drive of late, and have found the fuel consumption to be much improved (04 FI (and manual choke) model).
My 104 mile per day round trip commute used to involve me filling up every other day - the fuel light would religiously come on at around 185-190 miles. I've now backed off the throttle a tad, and am focusing on keeping the miles per litre number in double figures. I'm now only having to fill up after 2.5 round trips, and the most I've got out of the tank is 263 miles (fuel light on at 235ish miles). A brimming sees about 23 litres go into the tank. Speed tends to vary between 75 and 90 on the motorway, and more gentle acceleration when in London.
The good news is that this saves me 50 quid a month.
The bad news is that the journey is now very boring.
That's bloody good going - dull as it may be!
I seem have my fuel light come on at 170 no matter whether I ride like a hooligan or a Vicar out on a Sunday afternoon! So naturally, I choose the former!
The best petrol consumption I ever achieved on my Varadero was 28 mpg - 123 miles in 1 hr. 14 min. 5 minute petrol stop for 20 litres, then another 130 miles in 1 hr. 18 min then another petrol stop - 21.1 litres. I had a Sigma bike computer.
Then I remembered I was on a touring holiday and my petrol consumption reduced to a less adrenaline inducing 40/45 mpg.![]()
