just curious really how big is the tank on the vara and how many miles to a tank do you get![]()
say sort of 80-90 on motorways and reasonably spirited riding not balls out
im not interested in mpgs just what you can get till the warning light comes on![]()

Despacio. Hay m'as tiempo que vida
My FI bike's fuel light usually comes on at about 210 or 220 miles. However, riding at 90 on motorways impairs the fuel consumption, so I would probably not get so far.
Like the BMWs, I believe, the light is designed to come on when there's 4 litres left. Unlike the BMWs it actually does come on as designed (not when there's half a tank left!)![]()

23 litres...mines getting nowhere near those figures at the mo though. Fuel light comes on at around 170, but I am still in the honeymoon period with mine and thrashing it around the place like I did on my old Fazer 600!![]()
My idle speed is too high, but the little adjuster doobry wont turn, so that cant help. Just bought some Iridium plugs and an oil filter so will see if I can sort it while I've got my tools out. As it were.
try spraying the adjuster with wd40 for a few days to see if it frees up be carefull though you know how stupidly honda price these small partsOriginally Posted by Robster

I do hoon about on it now that I'm getting used to it, and want to shred the rear tyre as well.
I get about 175'ish before the light comes on. Taking it very relaxed I'll get close to 200.
I thought these twin spark jobbies were meant to be more efficient. Bah.

I get about 180 to 200 until the light comes. Mine is a carb version lke Robs which apparently are not as good BUT much better than i thought it was going to be after reading all the so called varadero MPG horror stories in the press. It works out at about 43mpg the Africa is about 45 to 47mpg so not a lot of difference really
Rob, the Iridium plugs definetly make the bike run better and increse the MPG a bit as well.
Talking about Petrol i filled my car all the way to the brim at Tescos tonite cost me £52 !!!! yikes!!! BUT it was only 84.9p and i had a 5p a litre off voucher so 79.9p !!!. Cheapest petrol i have had in a long time. I was so happy i bought myself a packet of Fudge sweets to celebrate
Yeah I notice fuel had quietly dropped about 12p per litre the other day when I filled up.
Got to the neck of the tank and I was only on £19 or so instead of the normal £20 or £21...I sh1t myself thinking I must've put diesel or something in until I saw the price on the pump!![]()

I think I've got to around 220'ish inc reserve as far as I'd dare. Filling back up was around 21 litres.Originally Posted by Chad
