    TKC 80's

Will be getting a set of TKC 80's fitted to the Vara next Monday. Only had two sets of the Trailwings on since I got the bike and have had no problems with them on tarmac wet or dry. Not so good on gravel though. What tyres have you got on your Vara and how do you rate them.

Had Dunlop T66's on when I bought the Vara...was never very sure about them. Dunno if that was cos they were oldish, nearing the end of their lives or whether I was just being a big poof on the new bike but they just didnt seem right.

Changed to the ubiquitous Metzeler Tourance's just before Christmas and have found them much more confidence inspiring - I haven't kicked the back end out once since they've been on!

I'll be changing those for TKC80's in time for the Stella so am looking forward to that as I found them absolutely fantastic on the AT

I had the Michelin T66's on mine from new and they lasted pretty well. I didn't have anything to compare them with until they needed changing.
I hadn't ventured much on the loose stuff so decided to put 020's on her.
I found these to be very good either in the dry or wet but a little bit twitchy when on the gravel. Sundays venture around Wales on some of the less firms tracks were butt clenching to say the least

I had a set of original Michelin T66 on when i got the bike and they have lasted 10,000 miles i have just changed the rear for another T66 because i got a new one on Ebay for £48.

I am interested to see how the TKC80,s are like on the Vara. I was thinking of an Anakee ot Tourance if i had not got the T66

Well here they are. Don't know what to think of them yet, only done 30 miles but they seem as good as the Deathwings.

Dont know about wear, we will see. Now to tyre pressures. I used to run my Trailwings at 36 front and 41 rear. On the sides of the TKC's it says 35 front and rear. What do you guys think? I have set them to 36 and 41 and they feel OK. But......................................?
