You're not knocking the sidestand when you give the extra oomph to clear neutral are you and making the switch activate?
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

    Re: cutting out

That was my first thought too...dont think the two are close enough though to do that.

It's not something to do with your special gear changey-gadget doo-dah is it? Excuse the technical language there if you will.

    Re: cutting out

Its wierd just pop it down into first and instant off only does it now and again I was thinking maybe its becuase the gear change is pretty savage and stalls the motor out??
Unless the side stand is bounceing a bit will check that out.
Thinking about the kliktronic though I wired it in to the 1st available live I came across I might be sending the ecu a cut off signal if its tapped into the wrong wire bloody good thinking that robster! It does fired up instanly off the button then is fine.

but mine does not die if changing down, only every now and than(in or after its been raining). Most of the time after a short stop engine sort of warm or proper temp, runs for a mile than dies.Wait for 3-5 mins and presto,no problemo

    Re: cutting out

HHmmm odd init I would have gone for some sort of hydraulic lock these bikes are known to suffer from it when they start up on choke you usually get a big scary bang but mine is warmed up.
Its a smooth cut out too asif the kill switch has been pressed.
It does not die as such just switchs off.
    will check wireing tomorrow.

Nope wireing switchs fine kliktronic wired into the main fuse box feed no probs there.
Starting too think this is just a big v twin thing. Will turn the idle up see if it compensates for it.

    Re: cutting out

How often does it do it?

If it's a fairly regular thing, ie you can predict when it's going to happen, maybe disconnect your sidestand switch and see if that stops it. Then you'll either rule that out...or rule it in!

Just for the record, mine (carbed like yours) has never done this. Well not yet anyway.
