Honda Varadero UK Forum Closing Down

Some of you might have had this email from Red if you're registered on the Varadero forum.

Hi to you all,

I've made quite a few good friends during the last 4 years since starting up this forum, had some good piss-ups and some great rides together.

I've not had a Varadero for a couple of years now but I've continued with the site because of the people who make up the Varadero group, the banter, etc.

Now it seems that I'm accused of making excessive amounts of money from the site to fund regular European holidays.

The truth is that I'm not making money from the site and as I'm not making money it's no financial loss to me if the site closes.

So as of Friday 7th December 2007 the site will close.

Best wishes to you all, I'm sure our paths will cross in the future.

This is a really sad day. I've offered my help and support to see if there's any way we can save the site in some way shape or form. Take it over, give Red a rest or whatever.
Just thought you'd like to know that we wouldn't sit by and watch it close without trying to do something.

Any site is only as good as the people who use it and it is a shame when a few bad un's spoil it for the others.

Take it over, get some "dead ard" mods and clear out the rubbish, give the good guys a chance IMHO. .

Can only echo the generous, useful information and friendly helpful bikers. Tyres, oil & screens are just a few of the helpful items. Seems everybody has their football hooligans.
Nobody needs hassle in their own time though.

Good to read that there is a little humor here... But I thought the Brittish 'zunk' the German?

Back to topic - Zuruck zur Thema...

I received the email like most of you and I also think it is a pity that the VUK forum will close down in 7 days from now.

The only thing I can add to the things I have written on the International Varadero Forum is the following:

Please save all the gathered information and don't let it go to waste...

And a big "THANKS IAN"! for all the work you have done. People simply are not aware how much time it takes (besides the money needed to run a site and forum together!) to keep such an organisation running...
