    New Varadero Rider

Well not quite! I'm test riding a 2003 model XL1000 V-2 tomorrow but if I get on with her I'll be making the purchase. I'm moving from a CBR600F and last weekend test rode a 2000 Blade. While it was fun I realise I need to grow up a bit! Also I have a 100 mile a day commute to work and the Varadero fits the bill.

I'm looking forward to the ride and am 90% sure I'll be buying her (enough to register for this forum - however not the 'official one' what a nightmare) so I may be hanging around here and asking lots of stupid questions over the coming days and weeks.

    Laters!

If you're not back here tomorrow night and raving about the Vara then I'll be very very surprised!

It's a fantastic bike in almost every way and I'm sure you'll not be at all disappointed if you spend your hard earned wedge on one. It sounds like just the very thing for a 100 mile commute to me

Send us a picture of it when you've got it

Hope the test ride goes okay

Been out on mine today and the weather was pretty carb (carb or crap?) - must be crap as I've got the FI model

    Re: New Varadero Rider

Coincidentally, I've just had my 06 Vara for its 4000 mile service, and the garage gave me a CBF600 as a hire bike for the day. Couldn't wait to get back on the Vara! Not that the CBF is a bad bike per se, it was just so bland and unimposing (and lacking in torque!) compared to the Vara.

While it was being serviced, I got the Stebel Nautilus finally fitted, and it's awesome! 139db of airhorn goodness - the bike now sounds like an Italian coach. God help the next hapless iPod wearer who steps off the kerb in front of me - I'm dying to use it!

You'll love the Vara - go for it!
