24000 mile service

Right, just booked the bike in for its service and one rear pilot road.
Am I right in thinking that the service includes replacing air cleaner, oil/filter, coolant, brake fluid and an inspection of everything else?

This is the big service?

I am about to have the same service as you.

The mechanic told me that one of the reasons this was the "big" service is due to the valve check. Hi also at the same time informed that it was not any reason to do the valve check before 50 thousand KM.

Don't know why Honda schedule it for 24 K service.. for safety maybe ?

The big service for the varadero is every 16,000 miles. Mines now going in for the 32,000. The medium service is every 12,000. The 16,000 is baslance carbs valves the entire works, although saying that my dealer says the valves never need adjusting on theses bikes

I once heard from a mechanic that the valves are ok until at least 50000 miles - got mine checked at 16000 though

When mine went in for 16000 service i left it with them dropped it there the night before and picked it up 2 days later as it gave them plenty of time to do the valves hot and cold and all the other bits included think if i remember it cost me about £230 for everything so not very expensive realy considering all the consumables used eg oil, plugs, coolant,air element, oil filters, carb balance. Cant complain really
