    Warped Discs - already ???

The Vara has just had its first 4k service. The pads show no wear on the front at all but the garage have agreed that one of the discs is warped already. I'm a bit miffed Is this a regular issue for the Vara?

I do a lot of city traffic thro Brumijam but that can't explain the warping at such an early stage. I only had two sets on the ZX 12 in six years

Garage are putting in a warranty claim so fingers crossed Honda will replace. If they don't there'll be trouble........

My varadero is a 99 model 30,000 miles ridden hard and heavily loaded and looked after, never had any problems with discs and only on second set of pads

don't think you'll have a problem as the disc should be replaced under warranty unless honda are getting tight fisted in there old age but they may not agree to replacing the pads

if your having all your servicing done by the selling dealer then he might be prepared to cover the cost of replacing your pads if honda say no -
as a gesture of good will to a loyal customer you might say

Re: Warped Discs - already ???

The rear disc on my 06 Vara has been replaced twice because it was warped. Mechanic reckons because the inside of the disc is bare metal, corrosion builds up causing a slight misalignment with the rear caliper/pads causing overheating and warping. He has tried to sort it by putting the thinnest coat of paint that he can manage on the inside of the disc Anyway they (Bridge M/c's Exeter) sorted it out under warranty with no probs. They also said that although the bike is now out of warranty because they know about the problem if it keeps on happening they will keep on replacing it for me.
