Never been on a VFR so I cant give an unbiased comment

but I love every minute on my Dero, and wouldn't entertain swapping.

Enjoy the black stuff, have a pint for me and raise your glass for Joey.

Come back safe and give us a write up with pics for Sharri

by all accounts the pillion provision on the dero will be better than the VFR and bumpy roadage will be smoothed out!

won't be as sporty as the VFR ride or performance wise but it is a firestorm engine after all so you may be surprised!

as for it your missus not liking the look of it, er well in fairness it ain't pretty but once on board you can't see it anyway!

    i reckon it's a great tourer!

The Vara is rather more comfortable for a pillion, and the pillion seat isn't much higher than the rider's seat so they get a more comfortable ride (but less of a view). The suspension is more pliant on the Vara too.

Does your wife hate the sight of the Vara or of all bikes? If of all bikes, then it won't make much difference. If she doesn't like the look of the Vara, then the best place to be is ON one since there's one less in the world to see.

My missus loves the Vara (08 model) and prefers it to the 1800 wing!

If I start throwing the Wing round the twisties she don't like it but chuck the Vara around and she's as happy as larry - go figure it!

Also as I mentioned in another thread a 770 mile/16 hour day with the wife on the back (albeit with the aid of Air Hawks) and again she loved it.

Just goes to prove looks aint everything.

Have fun - cant wait for the run report and pics.
