This is what I found from the internet:

Looks pretty straight forward as long as you manage to get the throttle grips out of the way.
Cheers
Lun
I fitted mine about 6 months ago fairly easy following similar steps as to Lun found.
I did however have to slice a thin strip out of the grips, (about 2-3 mm) stuck the rubber grip back on with hairspray and you cant see anything now.
I have used a cable tie and strapped it on so it can be removed and fitted in seconds for the German MOT
pics to follow
Thanks guys, I did see that one before Lun but my Vara has a different switch set from the shown Blackie.
Hairspray, interesting, wish I had some, spray that is![]()

Ah neat, thank you verry much. Not TUV approved then
I didn't get on with the 'Cramp Buster' but maybe I didn't give it a fair crack.
No not approved, lock it while accelerating you just keep on going faster until you come to a hill,
they need a bit of setting up and a 1/8 of a turn can be too tight or too loose depending on temp.
The cramp buster takes some getting used to but for long motorway journeys I don't want to be without.
for racing round the twisties I take it off![]()
Temperature hadn't occured to me as it's always hot & sticky here. I did think about the acceleration thing thoughand the grip needs to be strong enough to work against larger throttle opening return spring pressure as well as smaller openings.
Fixed it up last night, quite a bit more fettling required than I was expecting. I can see already with just one run that it'll take a bit of tweaking once it's settled in, thanks for the photos, helped a lot even though it was a bit different
The model I got (supposed to be for "most" Honda's) didn't have the 'pronged' leg, just a small lip and a couple of retaining legs of very questionable shape
I looked at a few 'electronic' proper cruise controls costing 3-400 quid that are remarkably similar to a couple of car ones, barring a few brackets and W/T switches, I have fitted in the past costing 50-60 quid. Bit of an insult to the intelligencetempted to have a go at that sometime. I remember seening a write up by an Aussie Goldwing owner who had done the same without too much difficulty, mind you a Goldie as close as you can get to a car whithout the extra wheels
