    probably going to sell my Varadero

    Due to me making a big mistake and going to look at a KTM 990 I am pretty sure I am going to be selling my Varadero:

    2007 07 plate Black Varadero, 14,000 miles, loads of sensible extras and upgrades Ģ5,000 for the lot....no offers.

    From the front:
    * MRA Touring Screen (fitted), plus a standard screen, a cut down standard sreen (excellent) and a massive Givi touring screen.
    * A renthal bar brace
    * 25mm bar raisers with stainless steel bolts and cappings
    * Accessory power socket
    * Honda heated grips
    * Givi crash bars
    * Centre Stand
    * Scotoiler plus home made touring reservoir hidden under the seat - good for about 3,000 miles
    * Hepco and Becker QD pannier frames. These are excellent and take about 30 seconds to fit.
    * Transenduro 41 litre panniers with pucks to fit the H&B frames.
    * set of 4 key matched padlocks for the panniers
    * Africa Twin sumpguard fitted. Plus original sump guard

    Its a lot of bike and a lot of extras for the money, still under the remains of the Honda 2 year warranty (to August 2009). I will even deliver it to within say 100miles of Lancaster.

    Go on, you know you want it. Full description and pictures will be in the sale/wanted forum soon.

    I didnīt dare to go for a test drive for KTM Adve. People told me that you wonīt be thinking Vara if you drive that KTM. Allthough I had a last minute hesitation when buying Vara, about 950 Adve, black, no tacky orange for me. Iīm quite sure that had I test it, I would be forced to go to my banker to ask some more. Lucky for me. KTM is such a trend bike in here. Thats enough reason for me to try to avoid it.

    You donīt happend to be a KTM owner, do you? Maybe there in your part of the world 99% KTM owners do heavy offroading whit it, which I seriously doubt. KTM powerparts are like Barbies toys, toaster, anybody?

    Orange is a postal service colour in here, not to mention it succes on aftermarked paintjobs. Even old DR Suzukis are being painted orange and dont get me started with numerous of "fighters". Orange is so coooooooolllll.

    oooooh somebody seems a bit sour today

    austin you buy a bike on your own experiences mate if you like it ( you will ) then go for it if you dont then stay with your vara

    peltsi.. so what if these companys do a load of gumph to sell alongside there bikes its a bit of fun mate..and yes I RIDE A KTM

    after owning

    1/ RD03 africa twin ,, still got it
    2/ RD04 africa twin
    3/ RD07A africa twin
    4/03 Fi varadero
    5/00 GS 1150

    all good bikes and you know what the KTM knocks them all into a cocked hat,, so dont kick a company for giving the buyer what they want

    honda could learn a lot from the little european companys

    Yep, Iīm a bit cranky. But I still think that its a trend bike. Thereīs no KTM on your list? I do agree with you that KTM makes a thrilling bikes. Some day Iīll be driving that black Adventure that I mentioned before.

    Itīs true. Honda is in deep darkness about their bikes. Everything must be so normal, safe and boring. Yamaha has given some signals about they are going to make new version of SuperTenere. If some else japanese company makes some daring bike model so maybe and hopefully that gives Honda something to think about. They are focusing too much on those Blades and other CBR nonsense. Who gives a **** if there is 5 kilos less weight and same 5 bhp more power. Last years model is just as good for average Joe who drives his/hers bike from coffee shop to another wearing this years new Dainese tattoo leather.

    Sorry Austin for messing up your topic.

    Re: probably going to sell my Varadero

    calm down, calm down. Yes, back on topic. The bike is still (probably) for sale, but I haven't ridden the KTM yet and haven't made my mind up.

    The Varadero has an awful awful lot going for it and I do like it and I really am in 2 minds. The KTM really is going to have to blow my mind. Mind if you want to buy it, I will almost certainly sell.
