Headlight Removal

I own an 06 XL125 baby vara and the main beam is set way too low. When riding the beam extends to only about 6 to 8 feet infront of the bike. The adjuster knob that is under the front lip of the headlight seems to turn much too freely and does not make a difference, it is as if the nut has come off of the end internally. Am I looking at a new light unit or ?
Either way does anyone have a good description of how to remove the light unit from the bike?

I'm afraid you need to remove the screen and most of the fairing. Try following this link which has a parts diagram. It might give you an idea of how to get at it.

Does anyone know if the knob/bolt has a nut on the end or if the reflector itself has a threaded part on it, I may able to "bodge" something through the bulb hole?
Are there any hints and tips for removing the fairing or is it "remove the screws and it falls off"?

Found the answer to the nut question on the website given, its a nut, oh well plan B.
