I have seen how good the GIVI is on FI model.

You do have quite a few options:
    Hepco Becker
    Givi
    Touratech
    Fehling
    SW-MOTECH

The Givi ones seem quite well made but I had to send the first set back due to being poorly packaged and arriving all chipped. The second set were better but still not perfect. Have a look at this thread for more info.

Cheers, because pictures are limited on bike shop sites i was finding it hard to make my mind up cos i would like to see them on the bike first.
On the Givi ones are both sides of the crash bar(ie LH part and RH part) joined across the front of the bike so their nice and solid?
Also can an idiot fit them?...With the right tools of course.

Yes they join left to right just above the belly pan and the also bolt to a plate under the headlight so effectively join there also.

    Re: Crash Bars

Just a quick note of caution here - my Givi bars have started to spot pretty much all over with rust through the black finish already - I've had them on for 13 months, and although I ride every day, I look after the bike, and nothing else has shown any signs of rust or corrosion yet.

Clearly the black finish is pretty thin, so it might be an idea to give them a Hammerite-ing before putting them on, or something like that. I'm gonna have to strip mine off when the frosts are over and get them re-coated with something a little better.

I think that's just the FI one, the Carb Givi is not so good, the ones I have seen at least. Not so familiar with the carb model accesories myself.

The GIVI is just santin black painted with some matt effect to the finishing. They should start around the joints/welds.

I sprayed mine with GT85 and so far so good!

How about taking them off for a powder coat? (not expensive max £40 and last long)

If mine starts to go, I might get them chromed to match my silver bike.

    Cheers
    Lun

    Re: Crash Bars

The corrosion is spotting in a lot of places on the bars, not just the joints, so the finish is clearly very thin.

Yep, it'll be off and powder-coating as soon as the slippery roads warm up a bit. Probably August.
