    Exhausts

Has anybody tried to make their own exhausts and if so how did they turn out.

It takes a man to understand how a woman can go into a hundred shops and then buy the first thing she saw in the first shop then return it the next day

Motorbike riders are the modern day horse riders give the beast it's head and see where it takes you

never seen any for a varadero but a mate made an endcan for his XT600E supermoto, it was really good. endcans are quite simple though, just two smaller tubes inside a bigger tube with some packing in between. his was less restrictive and much quieter at low revs than the oem but with a really nice growl when you let rip. all in stainless with carbon fibre packing, a neat job but he does have his own machining business, that helps!

I haven't tried making my own but I did enquire with these people
nice people http://www.longlife.co.uk/ about making an exhaust system for my VA5. The cost of the system can be dictated by yourself depending on end can finish. You can specify "tone" as well. I have had 4 car systems built by them. One on a Mini Cooper s, MG zr, Proton satria GTi, Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec that ended up with 240hp at the flywheel once I had finished it. They make a tremendous difference to the bike/car that they are fitted to but am still unsure as to whether or not mapping would go to pot with such a free flowing exhaust on the bike and whether a power commander would be needed. They help your engine breath so much easier that small children and dogs get sucked up into the air filter as you ride/drive past
