Not 100% sure but most lights do.
First is to test all bulbs, second if the gauge has not risen above the empty or reserve level then the light will come on until it gets a correct reading.

    Mine does not
and I'm allways worried that a bulb will blow so I never rely on the warning light.
Reset the trip every tank fill and I get 350km (ish) and start looking for fuel
Also if the light comes on with the sun behind me I cant see if the light is on or off a flasher signal would be better, if any elecy wizbods know how to fit one let me know

You could replace the original warning lamp with a flashing LED. It would depend on the type of lamp that is fitted at the moment.

LEDs have come a long way in recent years. You can now get ones that do not need any external current limiting resistor for use on 12 volts, you can get flashing ones (speeds vary but about three times per second comes to mind) and the range of colours has increased as has the brightness. I have some reports where bods have changed their instrument bulbs for LEDs and changed them back again because the LEDs were too bright.

I can have a hunt round and see what is available if you like.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

@Lutin, I've just read through the manual and LEDs are fitted but no info of changing bulbs or what rating they are, so I presume it would be a soldering job

It might be, but the only way to make sure is to remove one and see. I have no idea what this would involve, since i don't have a Varadero. Even if it is a soldering job, it shouldn't be too tricky - and let's face it, they are not the heaviest items to pop in the post.
