    Crashbars or bungs?

Now, I might struggle to find somewhere to mount my cruiser pegs without crashbars but I think bungs would be more aesthetically pleasing!

Now I've seen bikes go along the road with bars, and apart from the bars getting severe scratches and minor damage they're usually ridable after. Crash bungs on the other hand, I've seen a couple travel a distance on their sides and the damage is usually pretty grim, the bungs get bent or ripped off and severe damage ensues!

So, for drops or slow spills crash bungs, for more severe slides crash bars, my big question to you folks is which would be best? Should I take the gamble I might drop it in a car park so bungs would do? Or will I be saying "wish I'd bought the bars" ?

I crashed (on winterride) my Varadero. I think the damage was minimal. (me self broke some ribs etc)

    Minimal scratch on the bar

Minimal scratch on pannier, the white decal

    hmmmm?

    Well, the braking is limited

So....the crashbars do the work and also....they look always great on a Varadero

If it helps your decision any, I know it's a different bike but I binned my Kawasaki Z750S just before Christmas on some diesel pulling away from a junction, so only doing 10-15 miles/hr. I had the R&G crash bungs and bobbins fitted, but it went down heavily and has been written off. So given the choice I'd go with bars every time ( there weren't any available for the zed ) .

On the plus side, looking to replace it with a 700 Transalp !
