I've just fitted an active plus duo myself and i connected the main power feed into the rearlight feed(soldered) which comes on with the ignition.. on my 05 transalp....
everything seems to work great even the bluetooth dongle
the only problem i'm experiencing is the mp3 player keeps going quiet and loud without any activation of the microphone
i routed an extension lead for the mp3 player so i could plug in without having to lift the seat each time but i cable tied it to the passenger headset lead(for neatness) and i suspect that the mp3 input is inducing a small voltage into this lead and the system is mistaking it for an input from the mike lead and reducing the volume by 50% as per design
not sure yet, havn't had time to properly investigate. has anyone else encountered this???

This might help, the best wiring diagram I have found in colour.
its for a non ABS 2003 so you will still have to double check with a multimeter. I use power from the fan hoping for less interference, but I will still need a suppressor of some kind as I get HT clicking through the headset barely audible but its there
