    New Toy

Picked up my 05 Vara last week from Marshalls in Peterborough . One owner, full Honda service history..including the 16000 miles big one. Had a few issues on the test ride, one of the hooks on the underside of the seat had been broken at some stage. Made cornering interesting!! Also there was a slight pulsing from the front brakes. I pointed these issues out back at the shop, and yes one of the discs was warped,so two new discs were fitted and a new seat. Result.
I used to have one of the carb Varas and really liked it so was interested to see what improvements they had made. I have done about 600 hundred miles so far and so far i am impressed....other than the seat. Bloody hell thats firm!! The RD-03 seat is luxurious in comparison. Hopefully this will " bed" in as they say. Fuel consumption has been good, 240 miles before the light came on. This will obviously fluctuate...
It needs a few mods..crash bars,a bigger top box. I fancy one of these

Will try and post a piccie.

excellent choice. Looks like a non-standard screen, panniers look good though. My 07 has a firm seat but is comfortable for a tankful at a time.

    It does look smart.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

I had to say goodbye to the armchair. She disappeared up the road on her way to Germany.
