    Re: Motorbike Test

To be honest, at the moment, I have no desire to change my bike.
I love it and even though I have only been riding about three years, I feel I still have a long way to go in gaining experience before moving up.
So the A2 test ws a bit of self imposed restriction!
I'll probably see out my two years then I would really like a Transalp if I can afford one

    Well done.
Although if you are thinking of a Transalp, then a DAS course would not have hurt as the Transalp is not a Pocket rocket.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

    Hi Allmad

I'd be interested to hear about your bike.
What age is it etc and how much did it cost for the kit to be fitted?
Also, how much does your insurance cost?

    Best wishes

    Ade

    Re: Motorbike Test

    Hi
Been riding bikes for years but never got around to doing test. After about 17 years without a bike I brought a new baby vara and rode that for 3 years until I did my test.
Once passing the test, I got the big vara, it’s a 2004 bike, abs, injection, paid 4k for it. The restriction kit cost another £100 from http://www.fiinternational.com/ Honda got it and fitted it for nothing as I was buying the bike from them.
With the restriction on, I can do about 95mph, accelerates quite well but looses I would say 2000 revs before red lining. Handling is great, mpg is not brill about 150miles per tank but again that’s around town and not long trips, long trips with no gear changes I would say I can get about 180 maybe 190, think this will improve when the restriction comes of this year.
I am 47 this year, insurance last year, after I passed my test worked out about £250 fully comp with no claims protection (no claims bonus is 3 years from the 125 as a learner). This year with a bit of haggling I’ve got it down to £180.
Hope this has been of help to you making a decision.
