    £65 for a 12v socket!!

I was looking to update my Vara XL1000 08 with a power socket and so called my not so local but still very friendly Honda dealer in Lancaster. £35 for a socket and £30 to fit it!

That can't be right! The things cost about £5 tops am sure. Am I missing something??

I can now see why so many people get into farkles and stuff.

Does anyone know what NONE Honda 12v I can fit to my baby?

Well, David Silver have the genuine socket kit listed at £28.

Fit it yourself - half the price that you were quoted.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

Yeah £30 for the badge was what I thought. Just rang a biker and told that Maplin do a waterprrof one for boats at £5 and he will fit for a £10.

I can ride, all day and all night but pass me a wire and battery and I could have saved the Manhattan project billions just in error fitting a new bulb!

Okay, fair enough. But the official Honda kit looks like it just plugs into the existing loom without any hassle. That would be a big plus for me as I hate to see wiring looms b*gg*red about with.

Does this fitted price include the sub-harness? Cheapest Honda dealer hours labour you will ever find these days.

If it does, it sounds OK to me for a dealer.

Go on Ebay and type in 12V marine socket, They are cheap as chips, two wires, one to battery positive and one to battery negative!! It will cost you no more than £6 or £7 pounds!!

And before you ask, there is no drain on the battery unless there is a device plugged into the socket!

Just fitted one to my TA - very easy, looks the part. Towzatronics were very quick with postage with a properly packaeg item with instructions and guide notes. The loom was just the right length.
