Blue tooth link to garmin nuvi 255w

Hi,
Considering using the Givi S850 satnav bag with a blue tooth connection to my Garmin NUVI. Has anyone tried this?
There appears to be improved Blue Tooth technology around that should make it worth a go, if it works, massive savings on Zumo.

I've got an old Garmin car Satnav with speaker and mic sockets I plug this into the Autocom system and it works perfect. It has been damp a few times and if it rains hard I can put it in the tank bag
I think Garmin TomTom and the like are ripping us off, but as long as people buy them they will keep selling them at an extortionate price.

Thanks for that, agree about the rip off, they would sell far more of these Zumo's if they were a fair price. I'm trying to avoid the Autocmm route, all those cables and wires - hopefully the blue tooth tech has come of age.

Yes with Autocom you get the cables, but once its fitted you only have the one to think about.
For clarity and reproduction you wont get better
Bluetooth may be great but its only great while the batteries are good one day you will want satnav or music and the Bluetooth unit has no power
If you have a good bluetooth unit already and are happy then stick with it
if you are in the market for a new system then seriously consider the Autocom cables and all you wont regret it

If you don't get spoken directions through the headset, check if there's an option. The Zumo certainly has an option to suppress/allow directions.
