Re: Engine Recall?
Some of the first VTR and Vara engines were recalled, due to poor machine work on the cranks. The teeth were destroying the timing chain as I recall.
These were recalled and fitted with cranks from a new supplier. Problem resolved. As this was done in the first yr of the bikes being out they would all have been caught on the recall. But I might be wrong! It was a long time ago!

Re: Engine Recall?
If you want to check for recalls, use this...
Honda (UK) - Owner All honda recalls and whether your bike has had the remedial work done. Don't be surprised though if you find out about recalls for bikes that only seem to be issued in the USA, it's because the "lemon" law costs manufacturers money and they get sued if the bike goes t**s up, unlike here, where a dealer will just look at you in a disinterested state and wonder when you're going to stop shouting and leave his shop. |
