Anyone got a Datatoo Sys4 on there 1000?

I had my seat off today and found a small oblong ...like magnetic strip I assume its for the alarm. Anyway Its come unstuck do I assume you place it near the corresponding similar item that's attached to the frame? What dos it do as I have put it near "Its Mate" and set the alarm and then removed it and the alarm didn't sound!! .........beats me!!

it might be a read switch for the seat or it might be a trembler switch, set the alarm and give it a shake.
i had a system3 on my last bike, that had a microswitch for the seat that was always coming loose, the little sticky pad they use soon gives up. i glued it in place with rapid araldite and it stayed put for years.

Yup it's the magnet to activate the reed switch. I think it might depend on what mode you alarm is set to whether that is activated or not, need to read the manual, did you get a manual with the bike?

It's a bit challenging for someone like myself (not a pod gen) to understand all the modes and functions, ferry mode, service mode, fart in the general direction mode.

If it wasn't for the insurance I would just chain a big hungry dug to it "Is your dog Thacham Cat sir?" "ask him yourself"

Re: Anyone got a Datatoo Sys4 on there 1000?

if your bikes got HISS they wouldnt give you any extra discount for any more security, (my insurers over the last few years wouldnt anyway, mainstream UK insurers).

in fact you can cost yourself cash. if you tell them you use such and such a lock or whatever alarm and the day the bikes nicked is the one day you forgot to put the lock on, your freindly insurer doubles your excess.
