    Re: Exhaust leak

On my vara the two silencer gaskets had just been replaced by the last owner, He had after market silencers fitted which i didnt want so he put the stock ones back on and fitted new gaskets with receipts to prove,

All so in the service record i got with the bike the first owner had all the afending gaskets changed 7,000 miles previous to me buying the bike ,
So i have proof thad the rear gasket has only lasted 7,000 miles !and they wear done at great expence at a honda main dealer,

I my self think its got some thing to do with having a centre stand fitted,
My motech one is very close to the exhaust and must cause excesive vibration !,

    ian.

That and the fact they are made from crushed pencil lead and if they're too tight or too loose disintegrate
if and when mine go next time I'll replace the lot with exhaust bandage

Mine had never had a centre stand fitted when they went, I have since fitted an SW Motech stand (not good) and they haven't gone in 10k klms now (Std pipes), just about to change to Leo's so I'll see what condition they are in then.
