    Greenhorn's big ride

Seem like nothing to most members but just back from my 1st round trip from Blackpool to Harrogate. I have only used my Vara locally so it was a fair change.

Did a bit of motorway and then A59 all the way through to Harrogate.

My lil XL125 coped fairly well and sat nicely at 70 or 60 as the road dictated but I do feel the need for a bigger bike as overtaking was a bit heart in mouth and some of the hills had me dropping a gear to maintain speed.

Bigg weekend for me in biking terms, next is a 2 up with current Mrs Greenhorn!

I followed a local guy with his missus and panniers full of shopping on a W/Vara through traffic and down the expressway at the weekend, he wasn't hanging around

Was it a 125? Mine slowed a bit on the hills.

Am looking at a Fazer 600 at the mo as a stepping stone to a big Vara.

It definately was, there aren't many hills to speak of in Singapore though
