HI, DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE POWERBRONZE FLIP SCREEN IS HIGHER THAN THE STANDARD SCREEN ?
HAS ANYONE GOT ONE ON THEIR VARADERO ? IS IT ANY GOOD, IM 6ft 3 AND FIND THE STANDARD SCREEN CAUSES LOADS OF TURBULENCE AROUND MY HEAD.
THANKS

The "On Two Wheels" flip screen is much higher, it gives me full protection and almost no buffering, and I'm 6'6"
Or go the other way
drop your screen to the lowest setting, you may find its better being in the wind with no buffering.
I have the MRA Vario and I'm keeping it till Madstad Engineering pull their finger out with a Dero mod like the one for the VStrom
+1 for the MRA Vario. I'd become almost obsessed with screens, having tried a few, until I put this on, and now I don't even think about it any more. It does make your visor mist up more in the wet tho...![]()
I haven't heard from them since I sent them all the measurements a few months ago, I see they have almost finished development of the Tiger 1050 arangement.
With the Vara about to be released on the unsuspecting US riders it might be an appropriate time to give them a nudge![]()
I've got a On two Wheels screen too and find its really high, but!
Good points: Can ride around all day with the visor open.
Sends wind sraight over my head.
Bad points: The flip causes a distortion in my line of sight, can be a little
off putting.
When riding slowly in rain the droplets don't blow away and in
its difficult to see all in front.
Something you should consider before fitting a taller screen is the effect it has on visibility. You don't want to be looking through the screen (Do you?) so you need to be looking over the top. I'm 6 foot and with my skidmarx screen I get a letterbox sized area of clear vision above the screen which is fine in most situations on tarmac. When you need to see the road surface closer to you i.e.when riding over rougher ground/tracks you have to either stand on the pegs or look down through the screen. In the latter case your vision may be compromised by distortions and reflection caused by the curvature of the screen or if, like me, you're not so hot at regular cleaning, by the coating of squashed flies that seems to accumulate.
