gearbox sprocket
hello out there i just changed the chain and sprockets on my bike ,
the new gearbox sprocket has about 1 to 2 mm play in it up an down the shaft when the bolt is tightened ,  as if the sprocket is not wide enough ,i have tried another manufacturers sprocket(jts} and the result is the same ,do i need to add a shim of some sort to nip up the space ? there is no play back and forth on the splines , just up and down the shaft, i noticed that the original honda sprocket had rubber dampining on it are these available on their own ? anyone help?
