New Africa Twin .................... not!

Spotted this in my friendly neighbourhood Honda dealers.

Not a new Twin , but paintjob looks good!

Re: New Africa Twin .................... not!

Well, maybe better than the previous attempt at an RWB Varadero, but I'm still not convinced. I think the white trim on the luggage makes it look a bit tarty. Trying too hard in terms of "looks" but not hard enough in terms of genuine "ruggedness", methinks.

Oh for a proper dual-sport or adventure version of the Vara: engine bars, spoked wheels, a proper bash plate, lower 1st/2nd/3rd gear ratios...

Nice colour scheme, but the luggage will show all the scuffs very soon.
If they lightened it, it would be a good Adventure bike.

Re: New Africa Twin .................... not!

It does seem as if Honda may perhaps have noticed they're losing out market share to rival companies who do produce adventure-type bikes.

Maybe it's a toe in the water before the new Varadero comes out next year?

Has that scheme been done for the local shop or is the Big H actually trying to dress a lardy sheep in a svelt wolf's clothing?

Well I like it and would have picked that over the bland black one I have.

I always liked the RWB colours of the @T and I still think it looks great on the Vara, not such a pipe & slippers brigade chariot!

At least my black one's sexy!

Re: New Africa Twin .................... not!

On second look maybe if the cases were black (or aluminium?!?) the basic colour scheme isn't too bad. Whether people like the colour scheme or not, my point is that I wish Honda would put as much effort into making at actually as capable as the AT rather than just looking like it.
