H,i,d upgrade

hi i hope you can help me i am looking to upgrade my lights on my xl 1000 varadero and would like to know if any one has done the H,I,D upgrade,the standerd lights are great but they say the HID is better if you can help with info, and fitting that would be great...

I considered this myself but the standard lights properly adjusted and fitted with high output H4's are actually pretty good and a lot better than most bikes.

Putting HID H4's may not be worth it but AUX lamps like the HID converted Hella Micro DE's are good for lighting up verges, have a good flat top pattern so can be left on all the time to enhance visibility without upsetting oncoming traffic.

Check out HID50 for a lot of useful info, Les is a cool guy and knows what he is talking about, there's a lot of cheap sh1te out there so be careful about wasting you money on it.

Hi Folks,

I fitted H4 Bi Xenon kit to the Vara and the difference is huge. There is no other word for it...

HUGE!

The light jumps out of the headlight! Without a doubt, there have been many times when approaching a junction, that I see car drivers taking a second look because they see the different colour light. In my opinion, they increase my safety on the bike.

Also, when tournig, the lights can be seen clearly a mile away during the DAY!!! So when I take the tail, the lead rider knows that once he sees my headlight, he knows he has everybody!
