    Advice on 125 Model Years

    Afternoon,

after a trip to Thunder Road bikes and a sit on a £4300 Vara 125 (I almost fell off at the price) I'm definitely going the way of a Vara. But secondhand.

I was wondering if anyone has any information (or can point me in the direction of) what significant changes there were between model years, or if there were particular improvements in build quality or mechanics.

i.e. if I see a 05 and 07 with similar miles, what's the difference? And, I guess, is it a real advantage?

I'll keep scavenging around for info but if anyone knows where I can find it in one place it'll save me some google time.

    Thanks for your help

    Giles

You'd be best off asking any questions on the varadero owners club

    Cheers for that, registered there.

I think the answer is that the 'big' change was in 2007 when they were fuel injected and had new dash layout. Narrowed down my search to look for 07 onwards now.

They seem to go like hot cakes. I'll need to get a bit quicker when I see one...

another difference is the mirrors on the newer model are on the front screen, they are on the handlebars on the older model which i much prefer for when manouvering.

Thanks for that, I'd noticed it but naively assumed that the new ones were a better thing. I guess I really should try them both if I can.

    Cheers.
