Passed das and now looking for the next bike!

    Hi all
I own a 56 plate varadero xl125 v6 and have just passed my direct access test... A nice cool 5 degree c it was out there.
Being 6ft 4in and 17stone- dry and almost 20 st with all the winter gear on.

I love the riding position of my 125 but it lacks the power for my weight. I have found a xl1000 on 06 plate close to home, my only reservation is the colour. It is a red White and blue on.

I haven't seen this colour out there what do you think to it?

The colours are fab and they were factory on the 06 bike. The thing about this one for me it looks a bit on the steep side money wise or is that really what they go for in dealers?

    Congratulations on passing your test.

Good choice of bike, it'll feel so familiar coming from the baby Vara, also the colours are great on the 06, a tribute to the Africa Twin. That one has quite a lot of extras on it, some essential, like the crashbars!
I notice that's a trade in price, for a straight buy you'd get a good discount. If you have the money, shop around, some good deals to be had at this time of the year, if trading your bike it's much saught after and should get good money for it.
Best of luck mate, but SHOP AROUND!

Thanks for the comments. I had a look on the tinternet and spotted a couple of these the same colour - think it is growing on me. The is £4445 rather than the sticker price.
I am wanting to trade in my baby and I am in two minds as to whether to take the easy route and let mine part ex.
Mine is orange 56 plate, 19300 miles I am the third owner. The tyres are almost new and I have added headed grips (oxford) and a givi topbox which will hold a single helmet.

congrats ACK can’t go wrong on the vara. The RWB was the one I was going to get but my dealer sold it. If you are part ex'ing your 125 find out how much the dealer is going to give you for it then check the going rate for them on the net to get the best price for it.

Good luck and welcome to the mad house.

Now you just need to put your name down for next years TLD ride and we are ready for anything (check out the charity section)
