    Bar Risers

Has any one fitted bar risers to their Varadero ? im 6ft 3 and think the bars would be better about an inch or so higher.
Are they easy to fit and whats the best ones to get ?

Risers seem the cheaper way, but be sure that once in place, your cables, wires and hoses are not overly strained on full lock, one side or the other, or when the suspension is fully extended, under heavy acceleration, for example.

If that is the case it starts being a royal PITA!!

Better narrow the seat padding in that case to make your arms and trunk sit at a more comfy angle, if it came down to it!

I bought some from an ebay seller that sold allsorts of aluminium and stainless bits for bikes. They are +25mm and came with longer bolts and little stainless caps for the allen head. I think it was about £25. All very nice and a straightforward swap done in about 10 minutes. No problems with cables, brake hose or anything. Recommended by me for a better riding position and means tank bags are clear of the 'bars too.

SW motech do some fancy adjustable one's that look interesting if a bit expensive at around £70.

    Re: Bar Risers

Hi New to the vara my self, and being used to the twin been taller and with the bar raisers handle bars taller than most car mirrors, handy when driving through a capital city on my daily commute, not having them on the vara was a PITA so fitted these eBay.ie: Handlebar bar risers Honda Varadero Transalp NTV 30mm (item 190333097401 end time 02-Jan-10 22:43:19 GMT)
a bit pricey but work no probs 30mm help with the riding position and a little bit in traffic

    hope this helps,

    Re: Bar Risers

I have the SW Motech jobbies and well chuffed
expensive but it was an item that I did not want to fail on me so prepared to pay for quality and a TÜV certificate for our MOT
Up 31mm, back 22mm and a comfier riding position for a short arse like myself

very easy fit but I did have to slide the brake hoses up through the fork clamps and I have dropped the forks through the yokes a half inch
