    Re: Centre stand

Think the weight thing applies more to Transalps than varaderos, as the later aint exactly a feather weight to begin with but does have Loadssssss more power. And balancing the varadero while putting on paddock stand wouldnt be easy- hard enough on the tranny without the wifes help

for a quick chain lube I use a big stump of wood under frame and lean over to place on it [no dig at stumpy]

As for the extra weight...What weight? Your riding an adventurer /tourer …Not setting land speed records on the fastest thing on two wheels…
I agree 100% i'd be lost without my centre stand, a paddock stand is only any use in a garage or workshop

    Re: Centre stand

If I were riding off-road the last thing I'd want catching on things is a centre stand.

But I don't ride off-road and I'm very, very happy to have a centre stand. Much more useful than a paddock stand. For me!

    But that's just my opinion....

Matter of interest....Have any of you fitted a centre stand to the vara?

If so, is it a one man job?...or do you need some sort of lift to get under and fix it in?..

    All contributions greatfully recieved..

    Re: Centre stand

I fitted an SW-Motech stand on my own, it wasn't difficult. To be honest, another body would just be in the way.

I used a tent peg puller to fit the springs which was probably the hardest part. You'll manage!
