It depends what make you want. David Silver have a genuine Honda one at £145 and you would be able to pick up a SW-Motech one a good bit cheaper. Have a look at my review of SW Motech Mainstand before deciding though.

Thanks for your reply and information ...
Think I will go the bit extra and go for the Dave Silver Honda stand.

A good blow up picture showed the quality/design of the stand to make my mind up..

    See link below..

    Thanks again for the help.

Yes. That pretty much summed up my opinion. If there was a huge difference in price it might be different but last time I checked it was less than 30 quid.

David silver does 2 prices for everything. The over the counter price which is the same as every other honda dealers or the 3-4 week prices if you can wait that long he get's it direct from Honda Belgium and the price can be considerably less a rear shock for my Varadero was over £150 on the longer wait. You do have to ask for the 3-4 week price though i also saved alot on money on that when i rebuilt the xr

Something else to lug around. Why not buy a paddock stand and have done with it? One stand will fit most all bikes. DD

Although I agree in part to this, when on the open road a centre stand is easier to carry.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

    Re: Centre stand

How can you compare the convenience of a centre stand to the buggering around of a paddock stand...I’ve had a few of each over the years and just to through the bike up on a centre stand within seconds weather washing it , lubeing the chain or just practicality when out and about gets my vote every time.
As for the extra weight...What weight? Your riding an adventurer /tourer …Not setting land speed records on the fastest thing on two wheels…
