    Re: Fuel pump?

Hi all,the pump arrived today(well lunch time when the postie eventually arrived),and 2 hours later its all back together and aparently running as sweet as ever.Total cost including shrink wrap, jubbly clips and a rightangle adapter £27, a good result methinks.
The pump is a pacet type obtained from mcgill motorsport in Scotland (web address www.mcgillmotorsports.co.uk) for 24 pounds inclusive of post, might be worth talking to them to see if we can do a deal.

    Regards
    Mike

Thats a good saving on the Rugged Roads price, for what looks like the same pump. Plus you dont get an in line filter from RR!

    Funny,

Could you possibly list the part numbers of the clips & unions that you got with it, to allow others to easily get the set up for themselves.

    Top find that man

    Re: Fuel pump?

Hi all,the fittings supplied with the pump are 8 mm diameter and are a little undersize for the fuel lines on the carbadero. So, all I used were some jubbly clips(worm hose clips)that closed down to below 11mm, these were purchased from A1 motorstores, an aluminium right angle adaptor(that I had in stock--read in the odds and sods box) and some ptfe tape.( that is the gas type ie a lot thicker, rather than the normal thin type.)The mounting frame was modified as shown in the previous thead and wired up in the normal way.You do need a right angle fitting as the fuel pipe will not stretch that far and will kink.
I must admit that the whole process was simple amd pain free, and if I didnt have the required items at home, I would have purchased the correct items from Mcgill or from my locol hose and hydraulic fittings supplier.
    Hope this helps

    Regards

    Mike
