There used to be a member of the forum selling these - Caveman. I think he closed the shop and went travelling. Anyway quite a few peole had bought them and generally rated them as great VFM. Try paulS and piguglyshandydrinker I am sure they have them. If I needed another set I would buy a pair at £190.

2007 Varadero XLV1000. Now you're torquing but sadly gone to another forum member. One of the best bikes - period.

'Yes i can supply a rack and cases for your AT the racks are app.£160 the boxes are £325 includes a fitting kit to mount the boxes to your rack and lockable catches ,powdercoated inside and out with a choice of colours all prices +p/p hope this helps .
    Kind regards Roger '

Do a search for ARD Cases, got a set for my Transalp and there are quite a few others who have them, good bit of kit, and he'll do you yellow lids to match the bike. His forum name is RedCap on his Mob is posted somewhere on here. Good luck.

I likes the idea of Aluminium boxes but when I added up all the costs I decided against them. £200 for the boxes, £40 for the fitting kit, £180 for the Motech quick release carriers that's over £400. Compared to £360 for a set of Givi V35 boxes and fitting kit in black which suited my bike better.
Just my opinion on these, I still like the look of them but can't justify them.

    Re: Cheap ally boxs

    Two questions regarding ally boxes.
1 Aerodynamics: Do they cause the bike to handle differently at high speed being squared off rather than rounded?
2 'Crashability' What happens to them if you drop the bike?
My givi boxes were reputed to cause weave at high speeds but I've never noticed this. (Maybe I don't ride fast enough!) When I dropped the bike a couple of years ago the boxes took a serious hit. Dropped onto the left box, bounced up and over and slid up the road on the right box. Both sustained serious superficial damage but still work perfectly.

    Hi Davech42

I have two Alpo boxes you could have for £60 the Pair, they could do with cleaning, I think they are free from dents but were bolted onto my givi framework with 4 bolts each side. Would need to be collected.

They will be put on Ebay beginning of March starting at £80.

    2001 Varadero XL1000

    Regards Geoff

    Geoff,

If for any reason Davech42 doesn't want these, due to location for collection or whatever, can I be first in the queue please as these'll be ideal for my 'alp

(hope it's not bad form to form an orderly queue)!

    cheers,
    Nick
