For what it's worth I think the Givis are better designed ie they look like they belong!

they are fehling bars, from germany Fehling
supposed to be good and strong but as has been mentioned, they dont particularly match the bike. they do however protect the side of the bike which is what they are for after all, and give lots of options for strapping saddle bags to.
(this is the '03-'06, their '07> bars look great, you wouldnt know they weren't part of the bike but they are smaller and dont protect the rads as well)
givi bars are better looking, cheaper and there are plenty of testimonials on the forum saying how protective they can be so i certainly wont say they are not as good, but they are not so well made, givi finish does not last long but thats not a problem. if you have the savvy to fit the fiddly bleedin things and mess around with your engine mounts you can easily repaint them yourself when they start looking tatty, or get them powdercoated.
the ones im dubious about (for our bike, the '03-'06, cant say about other years) are the SWmotech bars. i dont like the big unsupported loop that goes around the rads, it doesnt look very strong
