Not sure about the vara but the Transalp fairings are £105 each side plus VAT.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

Upgrade to barkbusters or somthing with better protection
How bad is the damage to the side panel, could it not be repaired.
I've bought damaged fairings to repair from fleabay the last cost £8 including postage, scratched and missing a mounting lug but repairable

only cosmetic but every time i look at it im reminded what a **** i was, stopped on an oil slick and my foot went out from under, tried to save it and ripped my bicep.

had to go to dealer to book a service anyway today, so asked prices.
£171+vat for fairing, £26+vat for handguard. thats not so bad, lucky the centrestand and footrest held the back of the bike and topbox off the deck. it can wait till i can afford it anyway. if it was smashed i wouldve wired it together and kept it on as a trophy scar, any less and you wouldnt really notice it. its just enough to stand out a mile!

david silver want a tenner more, plus delivery, so once again ive found my dealer cheaper than t'interweb.

none on fleabay, got my hopes up with a pristine one right colour, right year, but for a 125. i cant afford new till after my various hols, probably a few months so one the right bits might crop up.

I have this NOT to look forward to ! I havent used my new bike yet, because i was waiting to fit all the bits n pieces, ie engine bars and pannier racks so that it does the minimum of damage when it does go over. Suppose i cant put it off any longer, so it looks like Applecross tomorrow

Problem with the vara fairing panels is the dye they blow onto the silver paint when i quoted for a scratch to be resprayed you were looking at nearly £300 and no quaranteed colour match the dye was around £90. I thought my panels were sprayed orange but there not, they are sprayed silver and as the paint is drying a red dye is blown onto the paint, so still maybe cheaper to buy a new panel as you would still have to buy new graphics aswell once you had the panel sprayed. In the end i never had it done as it's so small unless your looking for it you wouldn't know it's there

If your worried maybe worth getting the rails that metal sideboxes mount on, then if the bike goes down they will protect the backend aswell
