Vara loses power splutters then cuts out

1 when the problem occurs open the fuel filler cap imeadiately if you hear a hissssss your breather is blocked.
2 does the pump have a filter built in??????

When the pump went on my carbadero ir would run fine to about 180 miles when it literally ran out of fuel.
Wemoto sell replacement contacts, but for about £40 put a facet pump on and forget about it.
