Welsh U Turn Convention: Travelling from the N or NE thread

I'll be going over the hill at some point to head south so any suggestions regarding meeting up with others on the way down from the north??

I might well take the scenic route down through Wales

    .....any takers?

The N Westerners (and me ) normally have a meetup at somewhere like Lymm services on the M6 on Friday morning & a steady ride down through Wales with a couple of stops en route, a stop at the Ponderosa has been mentioned.

As yet, I don't think that anything has been sorted for definate.

Sounds like the start of a plan. I definately intend to go through Wales whilst there, rather than round it on the motorway.

I will be heading south on the Sunday though so will not be making my way back with you guys. or at least thats the plan for now.

I am not taking Friday off work but will travel down from either Blackpool or Warrington at about 3.30 to 4.00pm. I did this last year and arrived at Pembroke at about 7.30 with only the last hour or so along the A40 being in the dark.

Happy to hook up with anyone with similar plans. Route will be Chester - Wrexham - Oswestry -Welshpool - Newtown - Llandrindod Wells - Builth Wells - Llandovery - Camarthen - Pembroke.
2001 Transalp XLV650. Faithful old friend still chugging away nearly 100,00miles
2007 Varadero XLV1000. Now you're torquing but sadly gone to another forum member. One of the best bikes - period.

    Hi Austin

We shall be setting off similar time too once we've collected and settled the kids from school. You have the same route plan as I did last year except I'll have the Boss with me so no offroad play in the Brecons as a detour

I left at the same time but did not get there till 8.30pm ish from memory

We can talk nearer the time but it sound like a plan so far

02 RD07a RWB, Powerbronze tall screen, Remus Grand Prix, TT crash bars, TT pannier frame, Zega style panniers, Alpos top box,TT bar risers, TT headlamp guard, Heated grips, mainstand, Heidenau K60s for road and light offroad, TKC80s for the dirty stuff, Scottoiler, Autocomm, TT Zumo mount, Zumo 550 and most of all A BIG GRIN !!! Oh, and a very nice RD04 HRC coloured Marathon Replica

Re: Welsh U Turn Convention: Travelling from the N or NE thread

Last year we met at Lymm services then went via Chester, Bala, Dolgellau, Aberystwyth, down the coast to Pembroke Dock, good run

Then back up the middle on Sunday maybe squeeze Rayader dams in this time ??????????

Time to suit my preference would be 10 ish meet at Lymm Services M6 and take time going down as I will have Catherine on the back and she does not like me going too quick
