North West Posse - travel to the welsh invasion

A bit less than 2 weeks to go and we normally have a thread about 4 pages long by now.

Me and Mrs Austin are both going, we have the day off on Friday so can travel in daylight for a change. The only constraint is I have to take the dog to the kennel first.

Anyone want to meet us at the usual Lymm Truck Stop services on Junction 20 of the M6? Say 10ish to leave at 10.30 ish. That should allow plenty time for leisurely ride though Wales.

    That's the usual script austin.

Piguglies have to drop their mutt's at the kennel's too.

We'll take this as the arrangement's then.

Re: North West Posse - travel to the welsh invasion

I was looking at the map last night for a different route this year and from memory was thinking on the lines of

Lymm truckstop, M56, A55 south bypass pick up Frad and Catherine, A5104 Corwen, A5 + A494 to Bala, then A470 to Machyllneth. Grub stop and Hudders fag break - hell be going cold turkey by then !!

Then to Aberystwith but then take a A & B road inland hilly route off towards Tregaron, Lampeter, Newcastle Emlyn and then south accross the tops on more B roads down to Haverford West and then down to Pembroke - This would cut off the corner and Fishguard

I seem to remember Sarn Helen and some other Roman roads along the route but I need to look at the map and will post up
    what I was thinking

I suppose it will depend on how many stops we might need. I don't mind any route and will go with the flow

02 RD07a RWB, Powerbronze tall screen, Remus Grand Prix, TT crash bars, TT pannier frame, Zega style panniers, Alpos top box,TT bar risers, TT headlamp guard, Heated grips, mainstand, Heidenau K60s for road and light offroad, TKC80s for the dirty stuff, Scottoiler, Autocomm, TT Zumo mount, Zumo 550 and most of all A BIG GRIN !!! Oh, and a very nice RD04 HRC coloured Marathon Replica

Back road twisties depend on the weather being warm and dry. . . . . A lot of debate on the legallity of riding Sarn Helen.

I quite like seeing the sea on the way down.
