Stubbsie and I are going a different route that will be subject to change depending on weather and is twisty bits heaven according to the map but effectively it will be traversing Wales on the way down

Plan A (good weather) - Down the middle as far as Beulah on the back road B4358, then past the reservoires over to Tregaron, down to Lampeter B4343, over towards Llanrwda A482, then over Brecon beacons down to Brynaman A4069 then to Ammanford A474 (might blag a brew with Cabbage), then drop onto A48 and A40 to do last leg to Pembroke Dock

Google maps said 218 miles and 6 1/2 hrs but when I broke each bit up into short routes and added the mileage it came to 268 !! Given that the straightest route is 200 miles I would guess the longer google route might be more on the money

Plan B (bad weather) - straight down the middle with a diversion to Pendine Motor Museum en route

Looking to leave Hawarden at 9.00 am latest

    Anyone wanting in?

Aaah, right the direct route. Why hadn't I spotted it before. .

Enjoy yourselves, we won't make Hawarden for 9 am - it's an hour and half (ish) from mine.
