    AT engine breaking

Can anybody give me an idea of the price of the component parts of my engine?

The crank is spoken for as is (I think ) the flywheel but what about:

    Heads
    Barrels
    Engine cases
    Drive shaft
    Water pump/housing
    Oil pump
    Clutch drum
plus anything of a saleable value

    etc etc etc

    Cheers

    Re: AT engine breaking

I broke an RD04 and it's quite apparent that some parts are really not in great demand.

    Working through your list...
    • Heads - I priced mine at £70 the pair with valves. I've still got them. I'm open to offers but never had any enquiries at any price and no offers.
    • Barrels - I sold mine with pistons but can't remember how much - probably around the £100 mark I think.
    • Engine cases - I've still got most of them and have not had any enquiries apart from for the little pickup cover on the left hand side.
    • Drive shaft - Not worth a lot as anyone going to the expense of rebuilding the motor will most probably want a new one unless it's absolutely mint.
    • Water pump/housing - Probably worth £15 to £20. I sold mine for less as it was a bit grubby but usable.
    • Oil pump - Still got mine. No takers as generally if the oil pump is knackered, so is the rest of the motor.
    • Clutch drum - Probably worth around £45 if it's not ridged and doesn't rattle at all. I had a couple of enquiries on mine.
Be prepared for a long wait to sell some of the engine bits as these bikes are so boringly reliable there isn't a great demand.

It may be easier to sell the complete motor to someone who wants to put it into a 650 Bros/Hawk. I know your gearbox is noisy but perhaps the original Hawk/Bros 650 gearbox can be adapted to fit into the XRV750 casings.

Funnily enough the chap who is having the crank wants it for a bros - do you reckon I might have more luck trading parts - barrels for crash bars etc?

    Re: AT engine breaking

Right - complete engine now for sale (minus sump bolt)

It is basically sound as a pound other than noisy gears. IT drives well and is in reasonable condition with no leaks etc. Everything works. It could be fitted as is and used until the gears got really noisy.

    What would this be worth?

    Cheers

Could be a good idea to eBay it as it would be ideal for someone wanting to do a Bros special. Chances are they'd want to change the gearbox anyway. Bung it on with a sensible reserve and it'll find its own price.
