Engines done 12,000 km (import) since I rebuilt the engine with NEW,
Cam
Cam followers
Timing chain
Crank
Clutch
Oil pump
All bearings
Second hand gearbox.
Side panels
Rear suspensoin bushes.
It needs the barrel and piston replaced as the shop took the bore out as far as possible (and a bit) for the oversize piston, still leaving a couple of scores.
Now suffering some piston knock. I have a new Honda piston and ring set with a bored barrel ready to go.
Bike still rides fine other than the carbs needing a much out, oil leaking from the cam cover and the front wheel coming off good old ebay is not central in the forks.

Just noticed it's got the 17" wheel on the front on this pic, back to standard now.
I may break it although I had a ride on it Friday and it was like meeting an old friend again.

Hi there, not wishing to sound overly vulture-like, but if you do break her up, please let me know - I am after a pair of side panels, after being liberated of mine a couple of weeks ago!

as someone who is currently breaking an xl600 take it from me they dont break well youll get more in 1 peace
all i have left is frame bottem end of engine brakes and forks ive made about £300!!!

Just been looking at your thread and was thinking that myself. Looking like I'm going to have to find the time the fit the barrel and throw it on ebay.
Last thing I need is another bloody engine all over the shed.

It would be a crime to break it, they are fast beocming classics.
