You start talking around the £2300 mark and your into mint RD03/RD04 territory and also into RD07a territory.

As well as all the other stuff, the one on Gumtree with the odd panniers needed a seat cover. This one has had the seat recovered. Why would you do that on a 27k km bike?

Well spotted! So it's been all round the world, needed new piston rings, and still apparently only clocked up 17K. The trouble is its so easy to replace the speedo with a low mileage one, and not difficult to turn back the mileage on the existing one either, so a documented history really is vital.

Look at the front fairing on the HUBB bike and this eBay bike. Notice how the dark blue stripe is missing on both, and the Africa Twin decal is missing below the screen?

Notice the handguards are the same?

I have now found the eBay reply I had from Marcel on the one with the "Drumkit Panniers"

    Hi Rob,
    Nice specific questions.
1/ I've seen this done before, but my front sprocket is fitted correctly, not welded.
2/The rear wheel rim has corrosion and is beginning to de-laminate.It passed an MOT but needs to be replaced in the future.
3/I have had no major spills on this or any bike.I've changed the oil/filter every 5000km looked after it.

    Hi Rob,
Yes I thought it had sold too.The winning bidder denied placing the bid, so I am re-advertising it.
I am in Hackney London. Give me a call on 077 8636 4559 and we can arrange a time to meet.
    Cheers
    Marcel

    Re: RD03 Value

Changed my mind again. It could be the same bike.

The eBay bikes missing fork cover is the same as the one missing on the "Drumkit pannier" bike.

The eBay bike has had it's sidepanels/tank repainted or touched up, as the Africa Twin decals are NOT original, and are incorrectly sized. The drumkit bike had no AT decals on the tank, so they could have been added.

Also note, that those strange crashbars have a straight horizontal bar between them passing in front of the bashplate. Both bikes show that same bar!

Pannier frames front and rear seem to bolt into rear hangers, and eBay bike rear hangers show signs of a hole where the rear assembly might have been
    secured.

The "Drumkit pannier" bike sold in May 09 on eBay. Six months road tax takes it up to October when this ones tax expired.

    Re: RD03 Value

I was going to post something witty. However, I saw BobA's avatar, was momentarily distracted and now can't remember what I was going to say

I'm sure I'll remember again in a day or two...
