    Question 2007 Transalp 650 - asking price

As some of you may have read in my other thread my Transalp has to go, and I have to say its not a happy moment for me, but needs must. Now I've been looking at various ads and valuation websites etc and trying to price it up, and I have come up with a price that I think is reasonable given that it will come pretty much fully kitted out.

A stock 57 plate bike seems to be worth around the £3,200 mark, and the total value of the accessories are worth in excess of £1000, so would an asking price of £3500 be reasonable given that:

    - the bike has done 14,000 miles

    - it has a brand new chain and sproket set

    - it has been serviced 2000 miles ago, and has a full service history, inlcuding previous tax discs etc

    - the tyres have plenty of life left front and back (Avon Distanzias)

    - is in a very good overall condition, but has some very minor cosmetic damage. There are some small scuffs on the right side pannier, and an inch square area of the front right fairing has some scuffs, but this most people only ever notice when its pointed out to them. Also there are some very mild boot scuffs on the silverwork by the gear lever. Otherwise, great condition in my opinion (I've seen same age, lower miles ones at Poole Quay bike night looking much worse!)

    - it will be sold with: colour matched top box, colour matched panniers including inner bags, official centre stand, sw motech crash bars, and a scottoiler, as well as a brand new bottle of scottoil and a half empty one aswell. Also may be able to throw in the Baglux tank cover and a tall black tinted Powerbronze screen if I can get what I want, if not I will probably sell them seperatly.

So would £3500 be a fair price, or am I pushing it/undercutting it? Here are a few pics from last August/September until I get some new ones taken.

I don't know about the price but personally if I sell a bike it goes as far back to bog standard as I can get it and any extras are sold separately.

Thumbs up Re: 2007 Transalp 650 - asking price

I'd say it's priced to sell, and more interesting with the luggage as part of the deal.

Shame you have to sell, but good luck with the sale

If I didn't have a full garage already, I'd be interested in it myself

I'd take it back to bog standard leaving the centre stand on, sell all the extras seperately. The bike is worth 3250 at the very least. You'll get 150-200 for the panniers and at least 50 for the baglux. leave the scottoiler as it'll be a point showing you've looked after the bike. Standard screen back on etc and whip off the crash bars. If you have the time to do it you could make quite a few extra hundreds of quids.

Or put it up for 3600 for a quick sale. It'll go as they are sought after as the 700 has not been as popular as the 650.

You are forgetting the added value of the XRV stickers.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

I'd second the idea of selling extras sep, I could never be bothered in the past and went for the 'fully farkled' market, but more money if you split and some folks just want an 'honest' unfettled machine.
    Good luck
