Damaged wheels - advice needed pls.

My front wheel rim now has a bend in it, not a dent as such but just a bend. Thats what comes of running low pressures I guess, but 2 questions:
    1. Will that fail an MOT, it still rides perfectly, no issue on brakes etc.
    2. Can it be repaired/knocked out, or do I need new a new rim?
If it is new rim time, I may go the whole hog, and do a Talon/Excel front and 18" rear, with the associated 2nd mortgage.

    Thanks in advance folks.

Aren't these wheels similar to mountain bike wheels?
if so, they can be trued up using a spoke wrench.

First are you sure its not just the tyre that needs reseating?
if it is the rim that has got a bit of runout you can true it by tightening and loosening the relevant spokes
Check out the web for detailed info on truing wheels its not hard once you get your head round what you are doing, especially if you have a centre stand
A slight runout should not be an MOT failure

Thanks folks, but its not the tyre or the wheel out of true, its a little bent on one side of the rim, about 2" long, a flattening of sorts just on one side. Caused I think by hitting a rock or brick etc, something of that sort.

The tyre is well seated, I know, and although the wheel is generally a little out of true, thats not an issue either. I can tim that in a little by tightening/loosening spokes.

you can bang it a bit with a rubber mallet and then retension the spokes, this works sometimes, if that doesn't work you can have the rim rerolled but that involves dissasembling the wheel
